In November last year all the perpetually vowed MGL brothers gathered in Canberra for our Convocation, which takes place every four years. Although a number of brothers contracted COVID-19 and were forced to be online, the event was very Spirit-filled and a resounding success. We voted for a new Moderator and Council and came to important resolutions about the three main topics under discussion – brotherhood, the charismatic grace, and the call to make disciples.
We resolved to protect and foster our brotherly relationships across the huge geographical distances between our six missions. We reaffirmed the charismatic dimension of our missions, and discussed ways this can be enhanced. We also gained a stronger vision of what it means to make disciples and how to maximise opportunities to do so. The thirty-eight participants at the Convocation were enlivened by great praise and worship times, wonderful liturgies, and animated gatherings.
