Parish Priest Installation of Fr Cameron Smith MGL | St Benedict's and St Scholastica's Catholic Church Melbourne

On July 20, 2025, our parish community celebrated a joyful and significant milestone — the official installation of Fr. Cameron Smith MGL as Parish Priest of St. Scholastica’s and St Benedict's by Bishop Thinh Nguyen. It was a beautiful day of thanksgiving, with priests from other MGL parishes and missions in attendance, including Fr Stephen Fletcher, moderator of the MGLs.

Fr. Cam has faithfully served both St. Benedict’s and St. Scholastica’s Catholic Church in Melbourne as Assistant Priest for the past four years, sharing his many gifts in worship leading, pastoral care, teaching, preaching, cycling, and more. His joyful presence and generous heart have blessed our parish deeply.

With grateful hearts, we thank God for Fr. Cam’s “yes” and the journey ahead. May his ministry continue to flourish, bear lasting fruit, and inspire many to follow Christ more closely. Let us continue to keep him in our prayers.
