A New Year Begins Across Our MGL Formation Houses

As the new year begins, there is a renewed sense of hope and purpose across the Missionaries of God’s Love formation houses in Melbourne, Canberra, the Philippines, and Indonesia. Each house has come alive again with brothers at different stages of formation, all united by a shared desire to grow in holiness, brotherhood, and mission.

In Melbourne, both the seminary and formation house have begun the year grounded in prayer and community life. For many, this season is an opportunity to deepen what has already been received—integrating spiritual and human formation, and continuing to discover the gifts God has given them.

On Mission Placement

James Price, Sam Potter and Lester Agyar are on mission placement for a year and not in picture. 

Across in Indonesia and the Philippines, the brothers have also entered the year with clarity and gratitude. Orientation experiences have helped them recognise both their strengths and the areas in which they are being called to grow. Many speak of a deepened awareness that God is already at work within them, providing the tools needed for the journey ahead.

In Canberra, there is a strong spirit of enthusiasm for mission. The call to give one’s life in service of Christ and others is being embraced with generosity, alongside a growing understanding that true freedom comes through surrender—especially in prayer and obedience.

Across all four locations, a common thread is clear: a commitment to prayer, a desire for deeper conversion, and a growing openness to God’s call. As the year unfolds, we look forward to seeing how the Lord continues to shape these men into missionaries, ready to bring His love to the world.

Please pray for these men as they follow the Lord, seeking His will for their lives, that He may always protect them and provide the graces that they need to accomplish the mission He has for them.
