Melbourne Summer School of Evangelisation 2026

Serving as Administrator for the 2026 Melbourne Summer School of Evangelisation (SSE) was a profound grace in my life. This year’s school was a beautiful missionary outreach of the Disciples of Jesus Covenant Community Melbourne branch, in partnership with the brothers and sisters of the Missionaries of God's Love.

We welcomed 110 young people to Templestowe for a week-long live-in retreat, created to lead them into a personal and life-changing encounter with Jesus Christ. Summer School has been running in Melbourne for more than 20 years, and at its heart is the Life in the Spirit journey — inviting participants to open themselves to the love of the Father, repent and receive His mercy, renew their commitment to Jesus, surrender to the Holy Spirit, and embrace their call to evangelisation.

I was deeply blessed to serve alongside an outstanding core team: Steve Tynan MGL, our Director; Sister Katherine Stone MGL; and Althea Marvin. Throughout the week we witnessed the Lord move powerfully through daily Mass, Eucharistic Adoration, the Liturgy of the Hours, the Rosary, praise and worship, keynote teachings, workshops, and small-group fellowship.

As Administrator, my heart overflows with gratitude. We saw many outpourings of the Holy Spirit — young hearts renewed, faith rekindled, and missionary disciples sent forth with joy. Summer School continues to be a place where the Lord calls young people to deeper conversion, to love for the Church, and to a life of evangelisation.
