Ministry Training in Darwin

The parish team spent most of last year dreaming about what ‘a fully alive parish’ would look like, and this year has been the chance to bring some of those dreams into reality. A key part of this vision has been to invest in training up our parishioners in evangelisation. Fr Dave Callaghan created a ministry training course to give parishioners a solid formation in ministry so that they could be inspired to share their faith and take up roles of leadership in the parish. The course has been run as a series of intensives once a month, with about 25 people joining in person and another 10 people connecting with the material online. The training has been helping those involved to get excited about parish renewal. Fr Dave and Fr Adam have been working to bring the grace of the Holy Spirit to the whole parish. The celebration of Pentecost was a particularly blessed time for the parish. The Saturday evening mass was an opportunity for the parish to celebrate the extended 'Pentecost Vigil' liturgy for the first time. Many of the parishioners who attended this mass commented about how deeply moved they were as the congregation prayed for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit.
